Michael Jackson was born in 1961 in Preston, Lancashire. His interest in wildlife, drawing and painting began from an early age. As a keen onthologist, he had his own bird sanctuary and this early passion for wildlife led him to become both environmentally aware and a keen conservationist.
Jackson's quest for inspiration leads him to travel the world in pursuit of the subject matter that fuels his passion to paint. He has been fortunate enough to see the endangered Bengal tigers and the mountain gorillas of Rwanda. As a commited conservationist, he has worked with charities such as Fauna & Flora International, The Rainforest Foundation and care for the wild amongst many others.
