The smell of engines mingles with the roar of iconic race cars at Goodwood Revival, a three day September festival celebrating the halcyon days of motor racing. Held each September at Goodwood Circuit since 1998 for the types of road racing cars and motorcycle that would have competed during the circuit's original period 1948–1966. The only historic race meeting to be staged in period theme, recreating the romance and glamour of motor racing as it used to be, the Goodwood Motor Circuit comes alive for Revival, both on and off the historic track.

On 12 September from 6 - 8pm, the night before the Revival, Petworth Historic car gathering will take place. Market Square will be reserved for pre-1967 cars only, recalling what the town might have looked like in the days of the Goodwood Motor Circuit, which closed in June 1966.
