Rountree Tryon’s flagship gallery is based in the historic town of Petworth, West Sussex. It opened in 2016 and is where the majority of the gallery’s exhibitions take place and open for the public to browse the paintings and sculptures for sale in addition to works requested to view by appointment.

The gallery is situated in the centre of Petworth in a listed historic building, formerly a tavern, with step-free access and parking a short walk away in Pound Street Car Park. The town lies within the beautiful surroundings of the South Downs National Park and is a well-known hub for art and antiques. Petworth is also furnished with a range of boutiques and excellent restaurants and cafés. Near the gallery lies Petworth House, a spectacular seventeenth-century National Trust property which is set in a deer park designed by Capability Brown and is home to an unmissable art collection, including works by Turner, Reynolds, and Titian.

The gallery is the base for company Director Jamie Rountree, Associate Director Chantelle Rountree. Jamie Rountree formed Rountree Tryon Galleries in a merger between The Tryon Gallery and Rountree Fine Art in 2013. He founded Rountree Fine Art in 2009 after a ten-year career at the auction houses Christie’s and Bonhams and has established Rountree Tryon as a world-leader in the combined specialist areas of sporting, maritime, and wildlife art.
