Before becoming the owner and Director of Rountree Tryon in 2009, Jamie spent ten years in the auction world, working at both Bonhams and Christie’s where he ran various picture departments, including sporting and maritime. 

Jamie is also a consultant for Arts Council England and is an expert for National gifts in lieu of inheritance tax.

He was the Hon. Custodain of pictures at the Royal Yacht Squadron, 2015-2023 and was Royal Warrant Holder of Appointment, (individual) from 2018 to 2023.
