Andrew Thompson has worked as a keeper and observor of wildlife on a Sussex river for the best part of four decades. During his time on and around the river he has been recording and photographing the wildlife whose habitat he has been privileged to share.
This book is a celebration of those years and, though not strictly seasonal, it gives the rest of us an insight into the natural beauty of the river throughout the course of a year.
Dominque Kenway's carefully selected extracts of prose and poetry which accompany many of the photographs in the book, while giving another dimension to them, also provide them with a historical significance.
